Courses offered:  "Judson is pleased to announce that we are now offering
a
MAJOR in EQUINE STUDIES! This full, four-year bachelor's degree
program is unique to the state of Alabama and offers courses that
include equine business management, equine-related therapy,
horseback riding and instruction, equine disease management and
many more.
If you are passionate about horses and becoming a serious horse
professional, then this is the degree for you!

Judson also offers a minor in equine science and a concentration in Equine Facilitated Mental Health. With this concentration, students will
major in Psychology but have their courses tailored towards equine studies to help them learn how to use horses to work with special needs
individuals - all at the instruction of two NARHA Level I Certified instructors.

Judson students in the equine studies program score a number of internships each summer but also have opportunities to work with the
local community through horses, as well as many other daily hands-on activities.

Besides the equine studies program, Judson offers 19 majors and 24 other minors - most popular courses of study are:  Biology,
Education, Music and Business."

Riding description: Judson joined the IHSA in 1997 and has since qualified for Regional and National Competitions, hosted Western Shows
and received IHSA Scholarships. Judson competes at IHSA Zone 5, Region 2 and brings home the blue continuously in both Hunter and
Western Horsemanship.

Judson’s Equestrian team members are chosen at the beginning of each school year through a rigorous riding try-out and the team
normally consists of anywhere from 8-10 riders, all with various forms of riding experience.

Besides the Equestrian Team, Judson also offers riding classes to all students.  Classes range from Beginner to Advanced riding classes
and any student with a desire to learn is welcome to enroll.

Additional school info : Judson is currently one of the only colleges in Alabama to own a covered riding arena – and a 35,000 square foot
arena at that! Judson’s equestrian facilities also includes an 18-stall barn with two tack rooms, a jumping field in the center of campus and
15 dependable, college-owned mounts.

Located in Marion, Alabama, Judson College is a small, affordable Liberal Arts and Sciences College dedicated to Christian higher
education for women, in a setting that personally engages each student through rigorous academics, one-on-one faculty interaction,
community service and mission opportunities.
