4/18/2009 Marasina
My husband and I own and operate a small breeding and training program. Marasina, our Thoroughbred broodmare, has produced 5 beautiful
warmblood crosses who are now in various stages of training for the show ring. Two have been repeated champion hunter jumpers. Due to our
ages, my husband and I have decided to discontinue the breeding part of our program and are pursuing the idea of donating Marasina to a college
breeding program. Below is a description of Marasina.
Marasina is a chestnut 1996 registered Thoroughbred with the Jockey Club and is also an approved Selle Francais broodmare. She is 16-2 hands.
Her half-sister produced the famous Island Fashion who won over $2 million at the track and was sold in January for $950,000. This mare has the
ability to produce winning babies at the race track and in the hunter/jumper show ring. Marasina's foals are Zachary, Special Blessing, Churchill and
Debutante. All are registered Warmbloods. Zachary by Contango, a flashy 16-3 h. 5 y.o. gelding, was 2008 EPPHA Baby Green champion and is
currently winning in the Pre Green Hunter division. Special Blessing by Special Memories is a 16 h. 3 y.o. fancy rose grey filly who will begin her show
career later this year in the hunter ring. She is so quiet that her 61 year old owner rides her! Churchill by Judgement is a handsome 2 y.o. dark bay,
16.1 gelding who lunges under saddle and is a real people pleaser. Debutante by Consul is a big, beautiful chestnut yearling who is a delight to
handle. For pictures of Marasina and these babies see our website at www.brookviewfarm.net. Marasina gets pregnant easily and foals without
complication. She is currently up to date with her annual shots and is wormed every 8 weeks. She can be turned out alone with other horses close
by or she can be turned out with another horse.
Thanks for any and all help you can give us.
Sincerely,
Barbara Wade Rodgers

FRED
I have a 10 yr. old 15’3 hand AQHA registered gelding I am looking to donate to a college riding program. “Fred” is trained English and Western but has been ridden
English for most of his working life. He is currently used as a hunter but is a good candidate as a jumper too; he could be ridden Western with a “refresher course”. He
jumps up to 4 feet without any problems (no one at our barn jumps any higher than that). He knows his leads, loads, trailers, stands without problems. He can be
somewhat stubborn if he thinks he can get away with something, but otherwise is a good horse. He is very smart and has never been lame or had any health issues. He
is up to date on all vaccinations and has a negative coggins. Recently appraised at $15,000
If your riding program could use him, please contact our trainer RoseMarie Landrum 803-754-3961 for more information.
Thank you, Laura Beard, Columbia, SC

Farley
Farley is a sweet 16.1 1/2, 11 yr, Chestnut TB. Currently showing in the Pre-Adults - recently
Reserve Champion at Triangle Farms Indoor, Raleigh NC. VERY EASY move up to 3 ft divisions
or as high as a rider wants to take him. Walks the lines and brave to the fences.
Not 100% clean with his changes - will auto switch in the front and skip up behind. Schooling 3ft+.
Perfect gentleman on the ground and when ridden. He does crib, but is controlled by a cribbing collar.
Farley does have a history of stomach ulcers, but has been ulcer free for 2 years.
We have him on a supplement and he gets ulcerguard shortly before, during, and after traveling to
horse shows. If interested, please contact Jan Stone (919) 353-5767 or jkstone@email.unc.edu.

6/7/09 HADRIANA
I have a 4 yr old reg. TB filly that I need to either sell or will offer a free off-site lease. I have her priced at $3,500, will consider all reasonable offers
& payments (to right person). She moves like a hunter & has started over fences, jumped up to 2 ft. Needs refinement & gymnastics. Would make
a great show horse, has a great attitude & loves to be ridden & loves attention. She has great ground manners & does all the normal things: x-tie,
load, bathes, clips, etc. She has a very soft mouth & is pretty easy to ride.
Thank you,

Pretty To Think
This is a 3 yr old filly, TB, by "Fly Till Dawn" out of "I Feel Pretty" by Dynaformer. She is about 16.1 , bay with a little white on face, extremely kind,
trustworthy, and sound! She does not have her papers as my partner with her passed away and never got them. They can be acquired if someone
wants them. She is an excellent mover with a wonderful foot. She has a very pretty head with big expressive eyes, very intelligent. She rides
beautifully but is still green although does NOTHING wrong. My contact no. is Ginny Padgett (502) 494-3119 or gpadgettracing@hotmail.com .
The filly is located near Louisville, Ky. in the community of L'Esprit. Thank you, Ginny

7/1/09 Bunny
Bunny is a 10 year old 16.1 hand “G” line Hanoverian/Thoroughbred Cross. She is a big-boned mare and is quite large for her height. She is an
easy keeper. She has been described as “a tank”, “couldn’t kill her”, “built for breeding”, etc. by various trainers. She doesn’t require hock
injections, supplements, special feed, etc. and is the most low-maintenance horse we’ve ever owned from a health standpoint. No vices. She stands
for the ferrier and gets clipped with no drugs required. Bunny has recently been changed to “barefoot” and her hooves are still great. She has also
recently moved to pasture board, which she prefers over stall boarding. If Bunny is to be stall boarded, she’s a much happier horse with lots of
turnout and space to run off some energy.
Bunny has been successfully competed in Level III jumpers, but is physically capable of going MUCH higher. She requires a confident and
experienced rider in the Jumper Ring, but can be a performer there with the right rider. Bunny does not like the Hunter ring, except for flat classes.
Bunny is a much easier ride on the flat and shows talent for Dressage or Reining (go figure, a Western warmblood!) She is powerful, but a very
“floaty” and “10” mover while flatting. She goes in an English, Dressage, or Western saddle and will go around on a loopy rein or collect nicely when
asked. Dressage seems to be her forte, but surprisingly she likes Western also.
Bunny is also an excellent brood mare prospect. She has very good bloodlines and she is an old-style European warmblood-looking kind of mare. It
appears that she has never been bred, but given her health and conformation she should be an easy mare to breed, keep in foal, and will produce
large, healthy foals.

Justin
My name is Carmen contacting you for Carolyn Bell and Fortitude Farm here in Alpharetta, GA. Our website is www.FortitudeFarm.com. We are
interested in your donation program for a horse we have currently in our lesson program, IEA team, and Fortitude Family.
Justin is a 7 year old 16.1 H chestnut Quarter Horse- Gelding. He is service-ably sound, but will not pass a pre-purchase exam. He can jump around
a 2'6" course with lead changes, but he can buck with an inexperienced rider, so he should be ridden by college equestrian team members or other
experienced riders. He is a lovely hunter mover with almost no knee action. Justin is a beloved member of our farm and we would like to give him a
new home so he can get the attention that he deserves.
Please find attached all pictures available and the following links will lead to you videos of him in YouTube:

Velvet
Great on the flat both in the ring and on trails. Trailers and loves going off property for trail rides and hunter paces. Currently used in the school
program for both kids and adults. They all love her! Lots of personality and absolutely loves attention. Has arthritis which is manageable with
supplements and consistent work but will not vet 100% . Is sound for flat work, low level dressage and trail riding. A star in IEA shows. Ridden by
advanced beginners all the way up to advanced riders. Very flexible in who can ride her. Video at the following links shows trot and canter in both
directions. At the beginning of a ride she comes out a little stiff (as you can see in the video) but works out of it as she moves.
