Educational Goals: : My educational goals include attending a college and participating on their equestrian team while pursuing a

Judge with USEF with the intention of becoming a Registered judge.
Brief Riding History
I have been riding and taking regular lessons since the age of 6-- roughly 10 years. After saving up my money, I purchased my first horse when I was
10 years old, and, with the guidance of my instructor, I proceeded to train him from an extremely green western trail horse to a champion hunter. In
addition, I have spent many of the past few years schooling and showing a variety of horses for other people. In 2008, I purchased an equitation horse,
as my abilities had far outgrown my first horse. My time with him was an amazing experience, and I was looking forward to a very successful year
showing him; unfortunately, he recently passed away in a tragic accident. Despite this loss, I do still hope to move forward towards my goals and
acquire a horse to show this season. Throughout my riding career, I have competed in several local horse show associations, and I have been lucky
enough to have the opportunity to participate in clinics with great trainers such as Melanie Smith-Taylor. In 2006 I competed at the College Bound
Invitational in Gainesville, FL, and even though I was one of the youngest riders, I achieved 2nd place in Equitation on the Flat and 4th place in
Equitation Over Fences. I have also been showing in 4-H on the local, District, and State levels for the past several years, and I was recently in the top
ribbons out of 40+ and 50+ riders in the Equitation on the Flat at our District and State level horse shows. I’m a hard worker, and I consistently place at
the top of the card while in good company, both on the flat and over fences. I’m the type of kid that takes the time to go stirrupless for at least a short
part of every ride – I live for people to ask me to post without stirrups!
